I was reading A Former Leader's blog today, (a link to this blog is on my blog list) and the post titled "Upsidedown Kingdom" really spoke volumes to me. I thought that this post was awesome. It really brings out what the ministry of Jesus was like. I know that in reading the New Testament, that the ministry of the church that I had been involved in was far from the ministry examples I see here in the Bible. Thank you Former Leader for a great post.
I am a mother of 5 and had my family in a cult "church" for almost 20 years. After I became an employee of the church, I began to notice things that were disturbing to me and I knew were'nt right or scriptural. When it came to light that the pastor's son, the executive pastor and youth pastor, had been manipulating and sexually abusing one of the youth repeatedly for 4 years, I began to see the horrible reality of what I was involved in. I realized that I had been allowing a man to twist and use scripture to create his own man made doctrine and I had bought it hook, line and sinker. Once the law got involved, I became a witness for the FBI and spent over a year gathering evidence for the case. I had to pretend that I was still completely brainwashed and totally loyal to the dispicable people that I worked for because any hint of disloyalty and I would have been fired immediately. I began this blog as a way of coping with the situation I found myself in.... having to be with those evil people everyday and having to act as if I completely adored and supported them.
