I have wondered the same thing - why is a pastor wanting to take the place of God in our lives any different than what Satan did. That type of pastor works on you little by little, year by year until you don't see what's happening to you and then once you are out of it you see how much control he had over you. He really does take the place of Jesus in your life, so much to the point that you quit trusting in God and put your trust in the pastor.
